My son, who is 6 years old, was so excited to try his new sunscreen! He liked the fact that it wasn’t in a spray bottle or a traditional bottle/tube.  As you likely know, applying sunscreen to little people can be tricky, especially on the face and near the eyes.  Let’s just say we have had tears on more than one occasion due to accidental eye contact! Ouch!

However, the Kids Mineral Sunscreen Face Stick SPF 30 has solved this problem for us.  It is much easier to apply compared to liquid or spray sunscreens because of its consistency and packaging.  It also seems to protect his skin well from the sun- no burns so far!

At first, I was the one who applied the sunscreen to his face.  I was worried that he might accidently ‘break’ it.  Think of it like a deodorant stick…if you twist it too far up, the deodorant will fall out.

Finally, now he does it all by himself! I can see where he’s applied the sunscreen because there are white streaks until it’s blended in.  I usually help him with that part!

Drawbacks…

• It’s a bit tricky for very young children to learn how to use this product independently, as they have to push up the sunscreen from the bottom and keep their fingers up the tube while applying it to the skin.
• I wish they had a water resistant version.  However, ATTITUDE says they are working on it!
